If you prefer using real lemon, then try the lemon juice. Take up to 3 lemons – as long as it is enough to make a half cup (of lemon juice). It is also okay to use vodka. Mix cheap vodka and water – no need to use a large amount as half cup would be enough. Pour the mixture into the washing machine and let it run as usual.

Removing the Smell without Washing

Feel free to mix vinegar and water in equal part – and then pour it into a spray bottle. You can add more than 10 drops of (essential) oil to it. Using steam is also possible. But only do this when you are sure that the fabric is okay with the steam treatment. You can use an iron with steaming feature. Fill it up with distilled water. Or you can fill it up with 3:1 of rubbing alcohol and water, and then steam it up.
